What is a Mental Health First Aider Support session?

A Mental Health First Aider support session is a structured, therapist-led meeting designed to help MHFAs manage the emotional impact of their role, build resilience, and maintain personal wellbeing.

Who can attend MHFA sessions?

These sessions are specifically designed for trained Mental Health First Aiders working within organisations. If you're supporting colleagues with mental health concerns, these sessions are for you.

What's the difference between group and 1:1 sessions?

Group sessions offer peer support and shared learning in a safe, therapist-led environment.

1:1 sessions provide personalised, confidential support tailored to your individual experiences and challenges.

How long is each session?

Group sessions are designed to last for a duration of 60 minutes, providing ample time for collaborative interaction and engagement among participants.

1:1 sessions are structured to last for 50 minutes, offering a focused and personalized experience tailored to individual needs.

Are the sessions confidential?

Yes. All sessions are confidential and led by qualified therapists. Group sessions also maintain confidentiality and are structured to ensure a safe and respectful space.

Do I need to prepare anything beforehand?

No formal preparation is needed. Just bring your experiences, questions, and an open mind. The therapist will guide the session and provide tools and strategies to support you.

How do I book a MHFA session?

Booking is simple and can be done online through your  organisation’s Rightsteps portal or via your internal wellbeing contact. If you're unsure, speak to your HR or wellbeing lead.
