Every day, thousands of people working across charities and non-profit organisations provide essential support to individuals facing personal challenges. Whether it’s responding to crisis, offering practical guidance, managing complex cases, or providing support services, these roles are often emotionally demanding and can have a significant personal impact.
Together, ACO and Rightsteps recognised an important opportunity to better understand the experiences of those working in frontline, beneficiary-facing roles across the charitable sector.
This report presents the findings of a survey exploring the emotional impact of beneficiary-facing work and the effectiveness of the support available to those carrying out these roles.
We hope these findings contribute to important sector-wide conversations around strengthening workplace wellbeing to ensure that those who help others receive the support they need.
